Fresh off a string of recent restaurant closures, San Antonio’s Pearl development has added a high-profile opening to the mix.
LoverBoy House Eats — the latest concept from the team behind Alamo City brunch haven Box St. All Day — will open later this year, Pearl officials said Tuesday. The project comes courtesy of No Risk No Magic Hospitality Group, the crew known for pairing approachable menus with design-forward digs.
The new spot will land next to Coopers Row and across the San Antonio River from Pullman Market, anchoring what’s quickly becoming one of the buzziest pockets of Pearl’s ongoing growth.
If Box St.’s aesthetic-forward brunch plates and airy spaces are any indication, LoverBoy won’t be playing it safe. The concept will revolve around inventive but unfussy fare, carefully crafted drinks and an all-day energy shift — much like its sister concept — according to details shared by the team.
Neither Pearl nor No Risk officials disclosed specifics about LoverBoy’s menu. They also offered no official opening date for the dining spot.

The concept is led by Head Chef and Operations Director Edward Garcia III, Brand Strategist and Interior Designer Caroline Garcia-Bowman and Director of Vision Casting and Strategic Partnerships Daniel Trevino — the trio behind Box St.’s rise from pop-up to an SA staple with two locations.
Garcia-Bowman describes the project as a new creative chapter for the team — one centered on connection and the San Antonio’s evolving energy.
LoverBoy will join a wave of new development on the River Walk’s west bank, including Coopers Row residences, Otto’s Ice House and Perlen House, a boutique hotel now under construction.
Recent dining closures at the Pearl include Cured, which six-time James Beard Award finalist Steve McHugh shuttered last month, along with Carriqui and Full Goods Diner, both of which stopped serving late last year.
