After three years of serving elevated South Texas–inspired fare, Carriqui will close permanently on Oct. 19, according to Silver Ventures, the developer behind the Pearl complex, where the restaurant resides.
“We value our associates immensely and are committed to helping them transition into new roles within Pearl’s ecosystem,” Silver Ventures Chief Marketing Officer Michael Joergensen said in a statement emailed to the Current. “We will communicate what’s next for the historic Boehler building in the near future.”
The statement offered no timetable for when the developer would release more details.
Carriqui opened in 2022 inside the restored Boehler’s Liberty Hall, a structure that dates back to the late 1800s. The same two-story wooden building also housed the original location of San Antonio’s Liberty Bar from 1985 to 2008.
Carriqui’s menu was inspired by the migratory routes of its avian namesake, drawing influence from South Texas, coastal and Mexican cuisines.
The eatery will continue to serve lunch, dinner and weekend brunch seven days a week until its closure.
