The Spurs close out the regular season on Sunday night against three-time league MVP Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.
The Nuggets ended a five-game winning streak for the Spurs when the teams squared off last month in San Antonio. At that game, Jokic notched a 31-point, 20-rebound and 12-assist triple-double in a 136-131 win.
Spurs stalwart Stephon Castle finished the night with 30 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists to claim his third triple-double this season. Castle has recently been nursing a tight right hip, and his presence on both sides of the court will be key for the Spurs in the postseason.
Based on the current playoff standings, San Antonio could be hosting the Phoenix Suns or Los Angeles Clippers in the opening round, with the Los Angeles Lakers or Houston Rockets potentially looming in the conference semi-finals.
After enduring a six-season playoff drought, including consecutive 20-win seasons, the Race for Seis resumes in April.
