A home recently listed just west of San Antonio for $595,000 comes with plenty of eccentric touches that might appeal to someone who yearns for the steppes of Central Asia.
For one, the three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath property features a towering statue of a horse reared up on his hind legs, which greets those who drive through its gated entry.
And, adding to the eccentric appeal, a path through the backyard leads to a gorgeously appointed yurt, complete with an array of rugs, pillows and tuffets to keep a longing nomad and guests comfortable. An awning stretches out from the large tent covering more conventional patio furniture.
The interior of the 2,700-square-foot house features plenty of unusual touches of its own, including a mural in the dining room bearing the word “Texas” and an array of tree-like saguaro cacti — a species not found in the wilds of the Lone Star State.
Meanwhile, a mural on the wall of one bedroom depicts trees, while a mural on another depicts a bustling city skyline. And the wooden floor of the home’s foyer is inset with a compass dial.
We’re not sure how it all ties together thematically, but we feel better knowing a San Antonio homeowner had the courage to follow their bliss.
