Art exhibition: Andrés Ferrandis’ “Numinous” 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday, through March 22 In evocative collages and digital prints, Spanish-born artist Andrés Ferrandis, a Miami resident since 2002, explores intuition, perception and memory. “Numinous” consists of small collages and large digital prints displaying a clean, well-designed, semi-abstract aesthetic that you might expect from an artist influenced by graphic design and architecture. “Numinous,” a word usually associated with early 20th-century religious philosopher Rudolf Otto’s The Idea of the Holy, is defined by the gallery as “an experience that makes you fearful yet excited and fascinated, awed yet attracted to the powerful, personal feeling of being overwhelmed and truly inspired.” Working with images and materials of everyday objects and experience, Ferrandis appears to be attempting to chart the invisible realm of emotional and spiritual resonance lurking beyond the mundane visible universe. Live Music: Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair 12-10:30 p.m. Thursday – Sunday, March 13-16 In anticipation of the Tejano Music Awards later this year, the SA-based nonprofit Texas Talent Musicians Association (TTMA) is hosting a four-day, family-friendly fiesta at the historic Market Square. In addition to non-stop Tejano on five stages from 130-plus national, regional and local acts (including Solido, Stephanie Lynn, Shelly Lares, Grupo Signno, Elida Reyna y Avante, Los Desperadoz, Stefani Montiel, Los Palominos, Gary Hobbs, Sunny Sauceda, Ricky Valenz, Lucky Joe, Sunny Ozuna, TexManiacs, La Conquista, Erick y Grupo Massore and Stereo Kumbia by DJ Kane and Ricky Rick), the free event features traditional food and drinks, a variety of vendors and merchandise tables, plus “surprise guest performances” and autograph sessions with “El Gato Negro” Ruben Ramos, Juaquin Cura, Sesi, Linda Escobar and Jay Perez.

Film: San Antonio Poet Laureate Short Film Project Premiere 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 14 Carmen Tafolla is San Antonio’s first poet laureate, and to celebrate her original works, the Department for Culture and Creative Development (DCCD) with Three Chord Media  produced a series of seven short films based on Tafolla’s poems. The short film project is as much a celebration of Tafolla’s poetry as it is a celebration of San Antonio filmmaking, featuring some of the city’s most talented directors: Ray Santisteban, Daniela Riojas, Guillermina Zabala, Ya’Ke Smith, Erik Bosse, Joey Fauerso and Jim Mendiola.

Reading: Jonathan Marcantoni 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 14 Jonathan Marcantoni will also have a guest author at the event, S.D. Tolson. The event will be bi-lingual. They will be reading excerpts from both the English and Spanish versions Marcantoni’s The Feast of San Sebastian.

CAM exhibition: Manuel Rocha Iturbide’s “La Tensión Extendida” 7-10 p.m., Friday, March 14 Manuel Rocha Iturbide is a sound artist, theorist and composer from Mexico City, whose exhibition “La Tensión Extendida” alights at a pop-up warehouse space on March 14, thanks to newly established residency Casa Chuck and Michele Monseau’s Three Walls Gallery. Special Event: 8^th Annual Fest of Tails 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, March 15 Produced by the Friends of the San Antonio Parks Foundation, this Fido-friendly event  welcomes kite and dog enthusiasts from near and far. In addition to live music, enjoy food and beverage booths, along with information on pet registration and pet adoption services which will be available. Plus, there’s a costume contest, a pooch parade and a sky full of colorful kites.

Special Event: SA Current Large-Scale Mural Unveiling & Celebration 4-6 p.m. Saturday, March 15 In conjunction with Contemporary Art Month, the San Antonio Current will unveil a large-scale mural painted by local artists David “Shek” Vega and Nik Soupe. The unveiling celebration features music, onsite screen-printing and refreshments provided by Blue Moon.

Film: Much Ado About Nothing 7-9:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15 Writer/director Joss Whedon gives William Shakespeare””s beloved battle-of-the-sexes comedy a contemporary makeover in this feature adaptation starring Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof. In the wake of an eventful trip abroad, Claudio (Fran Kranz) and Benedick (Denisof) arrive safely back in their hometown of Messina, where Claudio wastes no time declaring his love for Hero (Jillian Morgese). Alas, when clever Benedick learns that his friend has poured his heart out to the daughter of powerful governor Leonato (Clark Gregg), he chides his old friend relentlessly over the syrupy assertion while engaging Leonato””s outspoken niece Beatrice (Acker) in a series of spirited debates. Meanwhile, somewhere amidst all of the pointed insults and playful barbs, something that strangely resembles true love seems to blossom between Benedick and Beatrice.

Special Event: Murphy’s St. Patrick’s Day River Parade & Festival 12-6 p.m. Saturday – Sunday, March 15-16 Watch floats release 110 pounds of environmentally friendly green dye into the San Antonio River. The event transforms the 2.5 mile river into a miniature Emerald Isle where a proclamation is read, temporarily re-naming the river “The River Shannon.” There’s live music on Arneson Stage and a family-friendly festival of food, games and activities in La Villita commemorating St. Patrick.

Live Music: Échale Latino Music Estyles featuring Ana Tijoux, Federico Aubele and Natalia Clavier 5-7 p.m. Sunday, March 16 Ana Tijoux, the Chilean rapper, who grew up in political exile in France, will add another chapter to her story on March 18, when her latest album, Vengo, is released. But before that drops, she’ll give SA audiences a taste of it during a March 16 performance here, marking her return to the Pearl’s Échale series. Previously, she played Échale in May 2012. That first time around the free show’s crowd included a good amount of people unfamiliar with her work, but by the end the entire audience was demanding encores.
