A San Antonio comedy show this Friday headlined by nationally acclaimed stand-up Cleto Rodriguez will raise money for immigrant services now under attack by the Trump administration.
The Laughs for Legal Aid 2025 show at the Alamo Heights United Methodist Church will include performances by Rodriguez along with rising stand-up Jordan Savai and the Holding Pattern Improv troupe. The event also will include dinner and a silent auction for items including vacation getaways to one-of-a-kind memorabilia, according to organizers. Tickets are available online.
Money raised by the show will benefit Justice for All Immigrants, a Texas-based nonprofit that works to reunite families and safeguard the rights of immigrants seeking protection from persecution and violence. The organization operates in San Antonio, Houston and Corpus Christi.
The fundraiser comes after the White House last month shut off funding for a program that provides legal representation for unaccompanied migrant children, forcing organizations such as San Antonio-based RAICES to lay off staff.
$50 and up, 5:30-7 p.m. (dinner) and 7-9:30 p.m. (performance) Friday, April 11, San Antonio United Methodist Church, 825 Basse Road, CLC Building, (713) 454-6470, justiceforallimmigrants.org/events-jfai/laughsforlegalaid.
