In exchange for Fox, the Spurs will ship Zach Collins and Trey Jones to the Chicago Bulls as part of the three-team deal. Meanwhile, Spurs guard Sidy Cissoko will be traded to Sacramento.
Sacramento also will receive Zach LaVine from Chicago as well as three first-round picks and three second-round picks in exchange for Fox.
Word of the trade was first reported Sunday night by ESPN’s Shams Chania.
Spurs fans celebrated the deal online, largely exuberant that the Silver and Black completed a trade for Fox, a 2023 All-Star, while keeping team cornerstones, including Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell and Jeremy Sochan.
Further, the Spurs also didn’t have to give up their unprotected first-round Atlanta Hawks draft pick, which could yield a significant return in this year’s draft or be used as leverage in a future trade.
Twenty-seven-year-old Fox is averaging a well-rounded 25 points, six assists and five rebounds a game this season.
