After just two games, the San Antonio Spurs are shutting down Dylan Harper, the team’s top 2025 draft pick, for the rest of the NBA Summer League season, ESPN reporter Tim MacMahon wrote in a Wednesday social media post.
Although MacMahon gave no reason, Harper missed the Spurs’ first two Summer League games due to a lingering groin injury.
Harper — the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft — made his debut in a matchup against Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday, scoring 16 points in 20 minutes of play.
During the first two games of his NBA career, Harper averaged 16 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal, shooting 35.7% from the field — a reasonably strong showing for a top prospect.
Even so, Harper struggled from the three-point line, going one for eight over in 44 minutes of play.
