Jason Rodriguez, who performs this Saturday at San Antonio’s Riot Riverwalk, got his comedy start in California before joining the pandemic-era wave of stand-ups moving to Austin.
He quickly became one of the capital city’s hardest-working funnymen, willing to work any room that would have him. That hustle made him a Moontower Comedy Festival regular and 2026 finalist for Funniest Person in Austin, an annual event hosted by Cap City Comedy Club.
Rodriguez also survived the Kill Tony podcast and variety show, where his set and a pushup contest with Bert Kreischer and Bobby Lee earned him the coveted Kill Tony notebook.
Rodriguez’s deadpan delivery eases audiences into everyman territory before veering into the absurd, and because he’s constantly reworking his jokes, no two shows ever feel the same.
