Stand-up comic Bert Kreischer, who performs Saturday at the Majestic Theatre, is the guy you want to party with.

Indeed, his propensity for gregarious, scene-stealing antics served as the inspiration for the main character in the 2002 comedy film National Lampoon’s Van Wilder.

With nearly 30 years in comedy, a long-running Bertcast podcast and four Netflix specials under his belt, he’s not slowing down.

Years ago, he rode roller coasters on Bert the Conqueror to beat his fear of heights — early proof of a comic willing to push himself. Today, he plays a fictionalized version of himself on Netflix’s Free Bert.

That relentless drive is what makes him The Machine, the nickname behind his 2016 special and 2023 feature film. Onstage, audiences can expect high energy, warm nice-guy charm and, of course, a shirt that won’t stay on.

With the Permission to Party World Tour, Kreischer is inviting San Antonio to the party, and he’ll make sure everyone has a good time.

$25-$349, 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, Majestic Theatre, 224 E. Houston St., (210) 226-5700, majesticempire.com.
