Back in the spotlight where she belongs, beloved San Antonio drag star Kristi Waters will return to host the Out at the Tobin Pride Brunch this Sunday.

Having previously tapped Texan pageant legend CoCo Montrese and Canadian bombshell Brooke Lynn Hytes as headliners, the event keeps the RuPauls Drag Race star power flowing by importing Australian diva Courtney Act. With a cheeky name meant to evoke “caught in the act,” the Brisbane native made a name for herself on Australian Idol before entering the Drag Race Werk Room back in 2014.

The strong singing voice that landed Courtney on Idol gave her a leg up on Drag Race, where she won the first-ever “Rusical” challenge and finished as a runner-up without ever having to lip sync for her life. Reality TV has become a constant for Courtney, who went on to win Celebrity Big Brother and compete on Dancing with the Stars and The Masked Singer.

Here’s hoping she’ll bust out one of her original tracks like “Mean Gays” or “Boys Like Me” on the Tobin stage.

Courtney may be a hard act to follow, but the Texas queens sharing the bill seem up for the challenge. Hailed as “the diva of Houston,” Reign LaRue started performing in 2017 and has racked up pageant titles spanning from Miss Gay Yellow Rose USofA at Large to Miss Gay Houston USofA at Large.

Described by fans as “the Latina doll of San Antonio,” rising showgirl Kylie Gorgeous is a member of the Haus of Dlux and does Mother Mehgan proud with high kicks, splits and death drops.

Word to the wise: Out at the Tobin is an 18-and-up event with six ticket pricing tiers — some of which include access to a brunch buffet. Brunch items and “inspired cocktails” will also be available for purchase at the Naylor Bar.

$33.50-$222.50, ages 18 and up, doors at 10:30 a.m., show at noon Sunday, June 14, Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, 100 Auditorium Circle, (210) 223-8624, tobincenter.org.
