Monday’s final installment in a series of scary movie screenings at Las Palmas Library will showcase the first 3D theatrical release by a major motion picture studio.
House of Wax (1953) stars Vincent Price as a sculptor driven mad by his business partner, who burned down their museum for the insurance money.
Professor Henry Jarrod (Price) decides to replace his beloved wax sculptures with real people he encounters who resemble his lost lovelies, among them Joan of Arc and Marie Antoinette.
Bonus: A very young Charles Bronson plays Jarrod’s sidekick, Igor.
Free, 5-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, Las Palmas Branch Library, 515 Castroville Road, (210) 207-9200, mysapl.org.
