Jardín — the Mediterranean-inspired restaurant at the San Antonio Botanical Garden — will permanently close Saturday, May 31 after brunch service, chef-owner Jason Dady said Monday.

In an emailed statement, Dady said he chose not to renew the lease on the building so he could focus more time on upcoming project Mexico Ceaty, a downtown food hall dedicated to south-of-the-border flavors. However, chef Dady will continue to serve as a preferred caterer for events at the Betty Kelso Center, the San Antonio Botanical Garden’s main venue for private events, weddings and other celebrations.

“This is not goodbye,” Dady said. “It’s simply a new season, and as a Garden goes, the seasons change. I look forward to continuing to support the Garden and its mission through our catering partnership and future collaborations.”

Jardín opened in September 2020 in San Antonio Botanical Garden’s Daniel J. Sullivan Carriage House.

The restaurant served brunch and lunch from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. seven days a week. Its extensive menu features an array of savory and sweet items ranging from lamb burgers to tiramisu pancakes with espresso-vanilla syrup. Appetizers include three different hummus varieties with made-to-order grilled bread, a selection of mezze plates and a cheese-and-charcuterie board.

Jardín will be open for Mother’s Day with a special prix-fixe menu. Bookings are available online.
