Cult favorite Andy’s Frozen Custard has expanded its San Antonio footprint, adding an Alamo Heights location.
The Springfield, Missouri-based chain’s fifth Alamo City store, located at 8338 Broadway, opened July 1 — just in time for summer. The $1.9 million building features a drive-thru and walk-up window under a covered awning, according to company officials.
Andy’s — which offers frozen sundaes with a choice of toppings — has 140 locations across 14 states. Its first foray into the San Antonio market came in 2022 with the opening of its location at The Rim shopping center.
The concept’s newest location is its closest to downtown.
John and Carol Kuntz opened the first Andy’s Frozen Custard in 1968, naming the shop after their son. Now grown up, Andy Kuntz runs the business as both owner and CEO.
