Bojangles chain to open two more San Antonio restaurants

North Carolina-based fried chicken chain Bojangles is set to double its San Antonio footprint.

The company, which entered the Alamo City in 2023, plans to build two new restaurants this year, increasing its total number of units here to four, according to state regulatory filings.

The new Bojangles locations are planned for 6040 Bandera Road in Leon Valley and 11043 FM 471 near the Loop 1604-Culebra Road intersection, Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation documents show. The company is spending $650,000 to construct each store.

Construction on the Bandera location is expected to wrap up this winter, while the Culebra location is scheduled to finish construction next year in late December. The company hasn’t announced grand opening dates for the two restaurants.

Founded in 1977, Bojangles has expanded to 930 locations nationwide, more than 50 of them in Texas. The chain is known for its Southern-style spiced fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits and tea.
