After a brisk expansion in San Antonio, Houston-based Mambo Seafood has closed the last of its locations here.

The chain, which made its Alamo City debut in 2023 and quickly followed with three more restaurants, recently shuttered its two remaining units, online listings show. The two eateries, 711 N.W. Loop 410 near the Medical Center, and 3242 Goliad Road near the Brooks development no longer appear on its website either.

Mambo Seafood specializes in Latin America seafood, including grilled, fried or sautéed fish along with fresh oysters, ceviches and shrimp cocktails. Its menu also includes coastal American cuisine as well.

Although the business still operates more than a dozen other restaurants in its home market and South Texas, its time in San Antonio was relatively short.

The chain shut its Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland store a year ago and threw in the towel on its Las Palmas shopping center location just six months after opening, according to an Express-News report.
