The Shops at Stone Oak and Stone Ridge Market development has slowly but surely expanded its lineup of dining concepts over the past year, with Pur & Simple opening in 2025 and San Antonio’s first Milkshake Factory making its debut earlier this summer.
Now there’s a new addition: Oja Sushi Hibachi & Robata.
The Current confirmed the new restaurant’s opening plans with an on-site visit. However, a representative for the business declined to provide more details when we reached out for more information. The project appears to be a brand new concept, though.
While readers will likely be familiar with the sushi and hibachi promised in Oja’s name, robata is a lesser-known Japanese method of cooking. The term refers to skewers of meat being grilled slowly over hot charcoal embers.
While state regulatory filings show that Oja’s construction was scheduled to end on July 1, work on the restaurant still appeared to be underway during the Current’s visit. Savory aromas wafting from the kitchen, however, suggested it’s not far from opening.
While the restaurant doesn’t have social media channels as of publication, what we do know is that Oja Sushi is situated in a prime destination in Stone Oak, which includes an H-E-B plus! along with a Pure Barre location, a new Fleet Feet location, a Cava and a Lupe Tortilla restaurant.
