Only a few more days remain to enjoy an authentic cuppa in Stone Oak.
The Old English Tea Shoppe & Cafe — a neighborhood staple since its 2024 debut — will have its last day in operation Sunday, Oct. 4. Co-owners Sandra and Peter Marley explained in a post on the San Antonio Restaurants Group Facebook page that they had made “the difficult decision to return to the UK due to circumstances beyond their control.”
The Marleys opened their chic eatery at 20122 Stone Oak Parkway alongside business partners Robb and Janet Kelly with the aim of providing a truly authentic British tea room experience — with the team cheekily dubbing the restaurant “The REAL British Invasion.”
In addition to its formal tea service and affordable English breakfasts, the spot also offered an assortment of fresh-baked pastries, coffees and stick-to-your-ribs pub classics such as Cornish pasties and chicken pies, fish and chips, and bangers and mash.
In the Facebook post, the owners thanked loyal customers for stopping by and invited the city to come by for one last time during the final weekend of service.
