Hook Land & Sea, a seafood-centric concept inside The Creamery District food-and-nightlife development, has undergone a rebrand after less than a year in business.

The restaurant, which opened Jan. 15, has been rechristened Costa Pacifica Margarita Garden and is getting a major makeover, according to a Thursday Facebook post from its management.

The post invited customers to come to a Monday, Nov. 25, grand opening that will show off the Pearl-area spot’s new look, new menu and expanded margarita offerings.

“Join us as we reopen with a fresh concept (pun intended), mouthwatering dishes, and margaritas that’ll make every sip a celebration,” the post said.

Hook and the other four concepts inside The Creamery, 875 E. Ashby Place, are owned by Only 1 Hospitality Group, the same team behind the original Costa Pacifica restaurant near Stone Oak. Only 1 also owns St. Paul Square nightspot 1902.

The Current reached out to Costa Pacifica management for more details but got no response by press time.

While Hook Line & Sea’s menu drew inspiration from Asian, Mexican and other international cuisines, the Costa Pacifica brand is focused on Mexican-style seafood served in a casual setting. It’s unclear how significantly Costa Pacifica Margarita Garden’s menu will differ from that of the original restaurant.

Whatever the case, margarita gardens appear to be en vogue in San Antonio this year. Celebrity chef Johnny Hernandez, for example, opened his first such concept in February next to Burgerteca.
