Later this summer, locals will be able to grab a fresh milkshake after a stop at the H-E-B plus at Stone Ridge Market, thanks to the debut of San Antonio’s first MilkShake Factory location.

The century-old Pittsburgh-based chain will open its first Alamo City location at 21025 U.S. Highway 281, Suite 1314, according to a filing with state regulators. Construction on the $125,000 shop is set to start in June with a completion date toward the end of August.

The Current reached out to MilkShake Factory officials for information on a grand opening date but didn’t hear back by publication time.

The new MilkShake Factory spot will be located in a strip mall in the space next to the H-E-B plus, in the same building as a Cava location, a Jersey Mike’s Subs and a Palm Beach Tan location.

Founded in 1914, MilkShake Factory focuses on crafting shakes with house-made ice cream and fresh ingredients. The company offers a variety of classic flavors — chocolate, vanilla and strawberry standbys included — along with signature options such as salted caramel pretzel, confetti frosted cupcake and cookie dough fudge. It also offers sundaes in addition to several dairy-free milkshake flavors and premium chocolates. The chain’s only other Lone Star State location is in the North Texas city of Grapevine.
