San Antonio oenophiles have a new wine bar at which to gather and raise a glass.

Beacon Hill’s Copper Rose Wine & Market will open Friday, Jan. 3, at 1810 Blanco Road, down the block from Blanco Cafe and Urban Goods, according to an Instagram post from the new business.

Friday’s grand opening celebration will feature a DJ set by Um Novo Sol and smoked wagyu pit beef by Buddy’s Big Trouble. The party will continue Saturday with complimentary wine tastings at 2 p.m.

Unlike most other imbibing establishments, guests are encouraged to bring the kids, who can entertain themselves at an on-premises playground, according to the Copper Rose website. Pets are also welcome.

Copper Rose will operate as a wine shop that sells both bottles and wine by the glass. Customers are welcome to open bottles purchased on-site and enjoy them on the shop’s outdoor patio, according to its website.

The business also will offer small bites and non-alcoholic drinks. Since the food menu is simple, “bringing your own food is welcome and encouraged,” its website also states.

The shop stocks “interesting and accessible wine from around the world,” per its online mission statement. Most bottles will be priced under $50.

Copper Rose will operate 4-10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday.
