San Antonio-based Las Palapas plans to open a $1 million restaurant in Helotes next summer, according to filings with Texas regulators.

The fast-casual Mexican food chain’s 25th location will be located at 14924 Scenic Loop Road, right off Bandera Road near the Quik Trip, documents filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation show. Construction on the 6,200-square-foot store expected to get underway in January.

Officials with the chain were unavailable for comment at press time Monday.

Las Palapas has served classic Tex-Mex fare including fajitas, super-sized burritos and breakfast tacos to the San Antonio area since 1981.
