Next month, yet another San Antonio eatery will make mouths water with an appearance on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

In a segment taped for the upcoming season of the long-running show, host Guy Fieri visited Ro-Ho Pork & Bread, 8617 N. New Braunfels Ave. His encounter will feature in the show’s “Tortas, Tomatoes & Tequila” episode, scheduled to air on Food Network at 8 p.m. local time Friday, Dec. 6.

Chef Jorge Rojo opened Ro-Ho Pork & Bread in 2015 after graduating from St. Philip’s College’s culinary arts program the year before. The Mexico-born chef wanted to expose hungry customers to authentic street food from his hometown of Guadalajara, Jalisco, especially tortas ahogadas, or sandwiches “drowned” in a flavorful sauce.

“At Ro-Ho everything is made from scratch, watching every detail, and keeping a small menu to offer the best quality possible,” according to the restaurant’s website. “We want to make your meal here a unique culinary experience, transporting you to Mexico with every bite.”

Fieri, the self-appointed “Mayor of Flavortown,” appears to have a soft spot for the Alamo City’s food scene. He’s featured at least 17 San Antonio restaurants on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives over the years, including The Cove, The Jerk Shack, and La Panadería, according to blog SATX Today.
