Alt-metal band Chevelle is returning to the road with a massive North American tour that will kick off Thursday, Aug. 7, at San Antonio’s Boeing Center at Tech Port.

The nostalgic, 2000s-era bill also will include metalcore act Asking Alexandria and indie rockers Dead Poet Society. Presale tickets go live at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, at via the code RABBITHOLE. Hailing from Illinois, Chevelle was a mainstay of early aughts alternative, landing some of the genre’s biggest hits. The group 1999 debut album Point No. 1 landed at No. 14 on the Billboard 200, while its 2002 sophomore album Wonder What’s Next went double platinum thanks to the massive hits “The Red” and “Send the Pain Below.

Chevelle’s debut album bore a raw indie sound that its producer, late recording great Steve Albini, helped coax forth. However, the band found its intensity on the second album by using Drop B tuning and added heaviness to meet the nu-metal moment.

Chevelle has also teased a much-anticipated new album, selections from which are expected to make the tour setlist.

The three-month tour will conclude this October in Washington, D.C.
