Fiesta Oyster Bake, one of the best-attended events during San Antonio’s annual citywide party, has unveiled a 2025 musical lineup heavy on late ’90s and early aughts rock, including headliners Sugar Ray and Hoobastank.

This year’s Oyster Bake will take place April 25-26 at St. Mary’s University. The event, which started as a small gathering of the school’s alumni, now draws crowds of up to 70,000. Presale tickets go on sale March 3 at $30 for a single day pass and $40 for both days, according to organizers.

Other bands on the bill from the Sugar Ray-Hoobastank era include Tonic and Vertical Horizon. Oyster Bake organizers will reveal the remainder of the musical roster March 3.

Hoobastank — known as the band with the worst name in the world — will headline Friday night. Even lead singer Doug Robb regrets picking the moniker. But hey, he already told us he’s “not a perfect person.” In addition to the massive hit “The Reason,” Hoobastank is known for the alt-rock-slash-nu-metal anthem “Crawling in the Dark.”

“I’m prepared to have my stank hooba’d,” Facebook user Adam Treviño commented on the lineup announcement.

Sugar Ray — the softest thing named after a professional boxer — will headline Saturday, bringing plenty of white-person-goes-to-Cabo vibes. Be prepared for lead singer Mark McGrath, who resembles Guy Fieri on Ozempic, to serve up the big hits, including “Fly” and “Every Morning.”

Tonic is best remembered for its romantic hit “If You Could Only See.” For its part, Vertical Horizon had massive success with “Everything You Want,” which reached number one on Billboard Hot 100 and Adult Top 40 charts and was the top-played song of the year 2000. The band also had hits with “Best I Ever Had” and “You’re a God.”

OK, fine, we’re getting kind of nostalgic now.

Modern country singer Braxton Keith is also on Oyster Bake’s lineup along with Grammy-winning Tejano musician David Lee Garza. Up-and-coming local acts such as Vanita Leo will round out the bill with additional San Anto flavor.
