Mexican singer Alejandro “El Potrillo” Fernández, whose work spans rancheros and Latin pop, will bring his De Rey a Rey tour to the Frost Bank Center on Saturday, May 31.

The tour — which also includes stops in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York — celebrates Fernández’s family legacy. His father, the late Mexican singer Vicente Fernández, is a Mexican cultural icon known as the “King of Ranchera Music.”

“I was born with two blessings,” Alejandro Fernández said in a statement. “First, being born Mexican, and second, being born a Fernández. This tribute is not about me; it’s about Mexico, it’s about Vicente Fernández, in my voice and in all of our voices as we sing together the songs that have become a part of our common heritage.”

Alejandro Fernández, a two-time Latin Grammy winner, is the first Latino artist to achieve No. 1 albums in four consecutive decades — the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020. He’s also known for his charitable work and efforts to uplift the Latino community.

General tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday though the venue and Ticketmaster.

Ticket prices unavailable, 8:30 p.m., Saturday, May 31, Frost Bank Center, 1 Frost Bank Center Drive, (210) 444-5140, frostbankcenter.com.
