Mexican superstar singer Alejandro “El Potrillo” Fernández — known for crossing boundaries between traditional ranchero music and Latin pop — will bring his De Rey a Rey tour to Frost Bank Center this Saturday.

The tour celebrates Fernández’s family legacy. His father, the late Mexican singer Vicente Fernández, is a Mexican cultural icon known as the “King of Ranchera Music.”

“This tribute is not about me; it’s about Mexico, it’s about Vicente Fernández, in my voice and in all of our voices as we sing together the songs that have become a part of our common heritage,” the younger Fernández said of the tour, which also includes stops in New York, Chicago and LA.

The two-time Latin Grammy winner is the first Latino artist to have four albums top the charts in four consecutive decades — the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020. He’s also known for his charitable work and efforts to uplift the Latino community.

$54 and up, 8:30 p.m., Saturday, May 31, Frost Bank Center, 1 Frost Bank Center Drive, (210) 444-5140, frostbankcenter.com.
