Isaac Brock, lead singer of Modest Mouse and its last remaining founding member, performs at the Pine Knob Music Theater in Michigan.

Early-2000s indie darlings Modest Mouse will perform Thursday, Aug. 21, at San Antonio’s Aztec Theatre.

Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. this Friday on the Aztec Theatre website, according to a show announcement the venue shared on Instagram. Presale starts Thursday with the code FREESTYLE.

Portland-based Modest Mouse is scheduled to perform in the Alamo City as a stop on its extensive 2025 North American tour. Its other Texas stops are in Irving and Houston.

Chicago indie rock due Friko is the supporting act for the Live Nation event.

Modest Mouse released its debut album, This is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About, in 1996. However, the band didn’t ascend to the peak of its commercial success until the 2004 LP Good News for People Who Love Bad News, which included the singles “Float On,” “Ocean Breathes Salty” and “The World At Large.” Good News sold more than 1.5 million copies and garnered a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album.

Lead singer Isaac Brock is the only original member left in the band following the 2022 death of drummer Jeremiah Green. The group’s most successful album, however, didn’t include Green due to a temporary absence. Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr also served in Modest Mouse from 2006 to 2009.

Ticket prices unavailable, 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, Aztec Theatre, 104 N. St. Mary’s St., (210) 812-4355, theaztectheatre.com.
