
The San Antonio Parks Foundation will host its 42nd annual Jazz’SALive festival this weekend bringing two free days of music, culture and more to Hemisfair’s Civic Park.
Grammy-, Emmy- and Peabody-winning bassist Endea Owens and her band the Cookout will headline Friday’s showcase. The Detroit native is a member of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert‘s house band, and she’s performed with artists including Diana Ross, Jon Batiste and Wynton Marsalis.
Percussionist and vocalist Pedrito Martinez, known for mixing Cuban music with Afro-Latin jazz and Spanish flamenco, will close out Saturday night. The musician received a Grammy nomination for 2013’s self-titled Pedrito Martinez Group album, and he’s collaborated with Ruben Blades, Wynton Marsalis and Paul Simon, among others.

The all-ages event will feature a variety of food and beverage vendors along with an artisan market. Upgraded seating options and VIP experiences are available at Jazz’SAlive’s event page.
No outside food, beverages or coolers are allowed for the festival.
