More than 43,000 fans are expected to attend Grammy-winning R&B artist The Weeknd’s Wednesday concert at Alamodome, and city officials are warning of traffic snarls downtown ahead of the massive show.

Those attending the concert should plan ahead to account for potential parking and traffic delays, according a statement from the city. Although the show begins at 7 p.m., the traffic is likely to bog down well in advance. Doors to the Alamodome open at 5 p.m., and the site’s H-E-B Plaza opens at 3 p.m. to offer food, beverages and merchandise.

Parking is available the Alamodome’s lots B and C for $60 on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 2 p.m. Other nearby city garages also will be in operation.

For those who opt to ride-share to the venue, the dedicated ride-share drop-off and pick-up location is Lot D, on the west side of I-37/U.S. Highway 281 between the Tower of the Americas and the former Institute of Texan Cultures.

VIA Metropolitan Transit’s Park & Ride is also available, with pick up and drop off at the Alamodome from VIA’s Crossroads, Frost Bank and Brooks Transit Center.

San Antonio marks the conclusion of The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn tour, which started in May with a performance in Phoenix. Supporting acts for the tour include rapper Playboi Carti and Mike Dean, a record producer, audio engineer and collaborator on multiple tracks by The Weeknd.

The Weeknd’s tour is in support of the singer’s fourth, fifth and sixth studio albums, ensuring that the setlist is packed with hits such as “Blinding Lights,” “Can’t Feel My Face,” “After Hours,” “Save Your Tears” and more, according to setlists posted from other dates on the jaunt.

The San Antonio show is also reportedly the performer’s final show as The Weeknd. Instead, he’s opting to go by his real name, Abel Tesfaye, going forward. The pop star has teased the move for quite some time but indicated to People magazine at the May premiere of his film Hurry Up Tomorrow that he’ll be able to finally make the transition when this tour concludes.

$87-$434+, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, Alamodome, 100 Montana St., (210) 207-3663, alamodome.com.
