With Trump’s budget bill shaping up to be a key issue in the 2026 midterms, the Democratic National Committee has launched TrumpTax.com, an interactive website that spells out the economic consequences of the legislation and the president’s “erratic tariff policies” for everyday Texans.

The Trump budget will cost Texas households more than $1,600 while serving up deep tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans, according to the site’s calculations. Nearly 1.7 million Texans are also expected to lose healthcare coverage due to the bill, and some 22 million families nationwide may face cuts to food benefits, the Dems’ numbers show.

The site, launched Wednesday morning, features state-by-state breakdowns of the economic impact of the president’s second-term agenda.

In line with the predictions of many economists, TrumpTax.com projects that hospital closures and Medicaid cuts resulting from the budget will lead to higher health care costs and rising hospital bills. What’s more, the deficit will balloon by $3.3 trillion, yielding everyday costs for families.

“Donald Trump promised to lower costs on Day One, but six months into his disastrous second term, he’s robbing working Texans to fund tax handouts for his billionaire backers,” DNC Chair Ken Martin said in a statement. “The Trump Tax is the largest redistribution of wealth and the largest cut to health care in Texas history. While Trump plunges our economy towards crisis, the Trump Tax guarantees Texans will feel the pain from his disastrous economic agenda.”

According to the site’s data:

  • Nearly 1.7 million Texans will lose health insurance.

  • 275,000 Texans risk losing their food assistance.

  • Nearly 113,000 Texans face losing their jobs.

  • The median household in Texas will lose more than $300 from the Trump tax realignment. With tariffs added in, the median household will lose more than $1,600 annually.

  • 15 rural Texas hospitals are at risk of closing.

  • Texans’ electricity bills are projected to rise by 4.1%.

  • Trump’s on-again, off-again tariffs have so far cost Texas businesses $6 billion.

Martin said the new site is intended to show Texans and those in other states the economic damage of Trump is wreaking with the help of the Republican-controlled Congress.

“Make no mistake: Trump is a lying fraud who doesn’t give a damn about our children, grandparents, or our Texas communities,” he said.
