Bella the Alamo cat is being commemorated with a Christmas ornament, capturing the charm of the feline guardian and the history of the Alamo, according to a Facebook post from the 300-year-old Spanish mission.

Bella follows a deep lineage of felines looked after by the staff of the downtown landmark and tourist attraction, and her coronation as the official Alamo Cat in 2015 continues a decades-old tradition, according to Alamo officials. Alamo Cats have guarded the site from pesky rodents and greeted visitors from around the world since the 1980s.

The Bella ornament will run Alamo fanatics $30 for nonmembers and $27 for members. It’s available on the Alamo Trust website.

“Do you love Bella the Alamo Cat as much as we do? ❤️🐈,” Alamo officials said in the post unveiling the ornament.

Miss Ruby was the first Alamo Cat who protected the site from 1981-1986. Mistress Clara Carmack, or C.C., oversaw it from 1996-2014. The staff at the historical landmark pays for all expenses required to care for the Alamo Cat, according to officials.
