Election campaign contributions top the $1 million mark
On April 8, campaign finance reports for City Council and mayoral candidates were due. Forty-four people are running for City office; as a group, they have collected $1,086,268 in campaign contributions, not including loans candidates have made to themselves. Below is each candidate’s total contribution amount for the January 15-April 8 period as recorded in Campaign Finance reports filed with the City.
Several candidates, Don Castillo in District 5, and Rhett Smith, Michael Idrogo, Julie Oldham, and Everett Caldwell, who are running for mayor, did not file contribution reports.
Final reports are due eight days before the election, April 30. The Current will list contribution amounts from that report as well as notable contributors as a web extra in the May 5 edition.
