NBA Hall of Famer and San Antonio pariah Charles Barkley was spotted soaring over the city this weekend.

No, the Round Mound of Rebound wasn’t flying like Superman. Instead, he was coasting along in blimp form, according to photos shared on social media.

Kind of ironic that he’d be depicted as blimp, given his repeated slams on SA basketball fans for being on the blimpy side. But we digress.

The Barkley dirigible is part of a promotional campaign launched by Capital One Bank ahead of the NCAA men’s Final Four, which is being held at the Alamodome this weekend.

“The time is now,” Capital One wrote on Instagram. “Find out who is the baddest blimp of them all … and who is just full of hot air.”

Given the amount of shit-talking Sir Charles does about San Antonio, don’t temp us to answer that, Capital One.

Turns out Capital One launched the Barkley blimp earlier this year. Now, the bank has added a second airship in the likeness of NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson — you know, just in time for the Final Four.

Capital One is a name sponsor of the upcoming March Madness Music Festival headlined by Jelly Roll, Pitbull, Chris Stapleton and more. The free event will take place April 4-6 at Hemisfair’s Tower Park.

Tens of thousands of college hoops fans will descend on the Alamo City this weekend to watch the Auburn University Tigers take on the University of Florida Gators at 5 p.m. this Saturday. The University of Houston Cougars and Duke Blue Devils will battle it out around 8 p.m. the same day.

The winners of those contests will then face off in the NCAA championship game at 8 p.m. Monday.
