Minneapolis-based entertainment concept Game Show Battle Rooms is poised to bring its interactive spin on team games to San Antonio early next year, state filings show.
The quick-growing chain will open its first Alamo City location early next year at 5518 North Loop 1604 West in the rapidly developing Landmark North development, according to records filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Construction on the 3,700-square-foot business is slated to begin this October and wrap up Jan. 1, 2027.
Game Show Battle Room officials didn’t respond to the Current’s request for comment on its plans. However, it’s not surprising the company’s expansion is taking it to San Antonio. The 24 locations nationwide include units in Austin, Houston and Dallas.
Game Show Battle Rooms’ name pretty much spells out the concept. Guests engage in contests similar to real game shows. The chain’s games include “What’s That Cost?” “Spin and Solve” and “Survey Battle,” among others.
Groups from eight to 36 can participate, and the company website also has a special link for parties of 37 or more. Parties are typically split into two teams and the contests are overseen by onsite game show hosts.
The experience is billed for parties celebrating birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, work outings, and team-building activities, among others. Game setups are divided into classic or primetime showdowns, essentially experiences with different games for groups to compete in.
The pending Game Show Battle Rooms adds one more concept at Landmark North. The mixed-use development also is home to a Fogo de Chao location, the Sicilian Butcher, Pinthouse Pizza and a Milkshake Factory location that’s still in the works.
