Mayor Ron Nirenberg has created a relief fund to streamline local donations to evacuees and service providers in Houston and in communities along the Texas coast hit by Hurricane Harvey.
Coordinated through the San Antonio Area Foundation, the “Mayor’s Hurricane Relief Fund” will go toward unnamed agencies and charitable organizations that are already working in the Harvey-impacted areas.
“We want to invite everyone to participate so we can best help our neighbors,” Nirenberg said at a Wednesday press conference.
