A St. Mary’s Strip goth bar is distancing itself from the actions of an employee, Ashley Pardo, 33, who was arrested this week on accusations she helped her son gather supplies for a planned school shooting.

In a late Wednesday Instagram post, Cream Cocktail Lounge, 2806 N. St. Mary’s St., said what Pardo may have done on her own time doesn’t represent the business. The bar also said it “immediately” fired Pardo, who only worked two shifts a week and “left fast.”

“We understand that people are upset and want to bash Cream, [but] just keep in mind we were only one of her employers,” the club wrote in the post. “We take this matter seriously. We love our patrons and promise a safe space.”

Cream has since turned off comments on the post, saying it did so due to responding messages “getting off subject.”

Officials with the nightspot didn’t respond to the Current’s request for comment on how long Pardo worked there.

SAPD arrested Pardo Monday and charged her with aiding in the commission of terrorism. Authorities accuse her of buying materials for her son that they believe he planned to use in an attack on Jeremiah Rhodes Middle School.

“[Pardo’s] refusal to see [her son’s] concerning behavior and her assistance in gathering items for him that have been found to have been used in other acts of mass targeted violence, it is believed she is facilitating [her son’s] desire to carry out his threats,” her arrest affidavit states.
