This weekend, the Mexican American Civil Rights Institute (MACRI) and Texas Public Radio will co-present the annual MACRI Symposium, a gathering of powerful Latino voices to discuss the future of U.S. civil rights.
Focusing on civil rights issues where historical struggles dovetail with contemporary challenges, this year’s lineup will include scholars, cultural advocates, artists and public servants ranging from comedian and writer Cristela Alonzo and San Antonio U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro to Rochelle Garza, chairwoman of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
In addition to the future of civil rights in the country, expect guests to discuss representation, equity, prosperity and other weighty subjects.
