The owner of the San Antonio Spurs NBA franchise is inviting the public to a series of open houses and community conversations about its proposed $1.3 billion arena at Hemisfair.

Spurs Sports & Entertainment will hold 10 community meetings between July 13 and July 23 to gather community input on the planned hoops facility, part of Project Marvel, the massive downtown sports-and-entertainment put forward by the city.

Each meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. with an open house, followed by a presentation at 7 p.m. and a community feedback conversation at 7:15 p.m.

The meetings are as follows:

Monday, July 13 – Pope Francis Center, 263 Felisa St.

Tuesday, July 14 – Alamo Community College, Dr. Bruce H. Leslie Boardroom, 2222 N. Alamo St.

Wednesday, July 15 – St. Phillips College TSC Conference Room 216, 1801 Martin Luther King Drive

Thursday, July 16 – St. Vincent de Paul, 4222 SW Loop 410

Thursday, July 16 – San Antonio Shrine Auditorium, 901 N. Loop 1604 West

Monday, July 20 – San Antonio Food Bank, 5200 Historic Old Highway 90

Monday, July 20 – San Antonio Board of Realtors, 9110 I-10 West

Tuesday, July 21 – St. Paul’s Community Center, 1201 Donaldson Ave.

Wednesday, July 22 – Our Lady of the Lake University Library, 411 S.W. 24th St.

Thursday, July 23 – Morgan’s Wonderland, 5223 David Edwards Drive

The meetings are expected to offer a first public look at SS&E’s plan for the arena, or at least conceptual renderings for the site.

SS&E’s community conversations are taking place even though the city and the team haven’t yet reached a formal agreement for the arena project. Furthermore, the city has yet to purchase the land from the University of Texas system where the facility is expected to be constructed.

City Manager Erik Walsh last month said a finalized deal between the city and SS&E is expected around the end of this year.
