Veteran basketball player LeBron James took a cheap shot at San Antonio as the Spurs get ready to face the Knicks for Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night in New York City.

Speaking with Steve Nash on the Mind the Game podcast, James said being in San Antonio allowed the Knicks to “focus on basketball” rather than be distracted by all the diversions of New York City.

The Knicks haven’t won a championship in 53 years. Meanwhile, the Spurs are a young team on a meteoric trajectory with a generational talent at the helm in Victor Wembanyama.

But while discussing the teams’ chances in the nail-biting 2-1 series, James turned his attention instead to the city the Spurs represent, suggesting the Alamo City is boring.

“You ain’t doing shit in San Antonio. Nothing at all. Nothing. And I mean nothing,” James said.

James himself is from the bustling metropolis of Akron, Ohio, known as the Rubber Capital of the World. Thrilling.

San Antonio locals have responded with ire, noting that he is probably just bitter because he lost two championships to the Spurs.

Nash tried to clarify James’ stance on San Antonio and asked, “Not getting on the River Walk?”

“Hell nah,” James replied. “The River Walk … fuck around and fall in the water.”

We thought you had better coordination than that, LeBron.
