Police are investigating after an adult male body was pulled from the downtown stretch of the San Antonio River Walk Monday afternoon, KSAT reports.

A passerby discovered the corpse floating in the canal along the 100 block of Villita Street, near the Lock Bridge and not far from Main Plaza, according to the TV station. It’s unclear how long the body had been in the water, and the cause of death is also under investigation. The body reportedly showed no signs of trauma.

The San Antonio Fire Department recovered the corpse, and San Antonio homicide detectives responded to the scene, the Express-News reports.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s office has taken custody of the body and is working to determine the cause of death, according to the daily.
