A San Antonio cat survived a devastating house fire and is now ready to find her forever family, according to San Antonio Humane Society officials.

Glitch is a 2-year-old female feline with a sad back story.

“She was brought to us in January after her family unfortunately lost their home to a fire and she found herself stuck inside the house, suffering burn injuries to all four of her paw pads from the debris,” as SAHS tells it in an emailed statement. When SAHS got her, Glitch had ash stains on her fur, smelled of smoke and had a cough due to smoke inhalation, the animal welfare organization said. The group’s medical team jumped into action with laser therapy, medicated foot baths, nebulization treatments, antibiotics, pain medication “and lots of extra TLC.”

“We are so happy to say that Glitch has made an amazing recovery and is now available for adoption!” SAHS said in its statement. “Despite the unfortunate circumstances that led her to our shelter, this sweet girl has never ceased to show us her loving and cuddly personality.”

More information on how to adopt Glitch is available on the San Antonio Humane Society website.
