The suspect arrested last week on allegations he fired a gun during a street brawl outside a popular downtown nightclub is on the run after cutting off his GPS ankle monitor, the Express-News reports.
San Antonio Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 cash reward for information that leads to the arrest of 38-year-old Joseph Reynaldo Olivarri, the daily reports.
Olivarri is wanted on active warrants, including unlawful carrying of a weapon with a prior felony conviction, tampering with an electronic monitoring device and a parole violation, court records show.
He was arrested Feb. 16 after witnesses accused him of firing several rounds during a brawl outside Bar House San Antonio. Videos of the fight have since gone viral on social media.
The allegations led police to arrest Olivarri and charge him with unlawful carry of a weapon with a felony conviction, discharging a weapon in a municipality of more than 100,000 residents and theft of a firearm. He was released from Bexar County jail Feb. 17 on a $20,000 bond.
However, the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office confirmed to the Express-News that Olvarri is on the run after cutting off his court-ordered ankle monitor Tuesday.
The recent firearms charges aren’t Olivarri’s first run-in with the law.
He was charged with murder in the March 2024 death of 34-year-old Joshua Cuellar after authorities said he bragged about the shooting. The DA’s office dropped the charge last year, citing the need for further investigation.
Olivarri is 5-foot-7 and has black hair and brown eyes. Crime Stoppers asks people who see him around town or know his whereabouts to call (210) 224-7867, or text “Tip 127” plus their information to 274637.
