These San Antonio animal shelters are waiving adoption fees this weekend

Five San Antonio animal shelters are waiving all adoption fees this weekend and simplifying the fostering process ahead of the holidays.

As part of nonprofit Petco Love’s “Love for the Holidays” event, 39 shelters across Texas are waiving all adoption fees Dec. 21 and Dec. 22. The participating Alamo City shelters include those operated by Animal Defense League of Texas and San Antonio Pets alive.

Animal Defense League of Texas:

San Antonio Pets Alive:

• Petco Love Adoption Center, 6001 NW Loop 410, Suite 103
• Building 1 Rescue Center, Building 1, 4710 Highway 151
• Marbach Adoption and Care Center, 9107 Marbach Road

Other than waiving adoption fees, the participating San Antonio shelters will simplify the fostering process for those not ready to make a full-time commitment to a new furry friend. Shelter staff will offer hands-on help, including essential supplies and free medical care for fosters during the two-day event.

Since 1999, Petco Love, the nonprofit arm of one of pet-supply retailer Petco, has invested nearly $400 million in adoption and other life-saving efforts. Through the efforts of its more than 4,000 partners, Petco Love has found homes for more than 6.9 million U.S. pets.
