For 19 years, Tim Duncan has scored a point in every game he’s played — until Saturday.

This is kind of amazing. Another way to say that Duncan finally didn’t score a point is to say that no one in the entire NBA — for nearly 20 years — has been able to shut out the Spurs big man during 1,359 games.

Spurs Guard Manu Ginobili told ESPN after the Spurs’ 121-103 win over the Houston Rockets that it was unusual for Duncan to not score.

“It’s very unusual, of course, but he didn’t play much. He hadn’t played in a week,” Ginobili told the television network. “If he’s playing until he’s 48, I guess he’s gonna have that a couple more times.”

Following Duncan is Karl Malone, who scored in 1,356 games; then Hakeem Olajuwan who went 1,089 games; Elvin Hayes at 1,084 games and then Michael Jordan with 1,072 games, according to Elias Sports Bureau
