If you’re determined to brave the crowds to see Imagine Dragons and Maroon 5 in concert (for free!), take advantage of VIA Metropolitan Transit’s park-and-ride program this weekend.
VIA will run its park-and-ride service during the March Madness Music Festival at Hemisfair Park from Friday, March 30, to Sunday, April 1. Festival attendees will be able to park at the Crossroads Park & Ride (151 Crossroads Blvd.), Blossom Athletic Center (12002 Jones Maltsberger Road) or Madla Park & Ride (1584 Cantrell Drive).
For just $2.50 each way, San Antonians and visitors can ride a VIA bus to and from the festival (the bus will stop at the E. Houston St./Avenue E intersection). There will be discounted rates for children (under 5 ride free), seniors, students and active-duty military. Cash and credit cards are accepted at all Park & Ride locations.
Festival-goers will be able to ride from 2-11 p.m. on Friday, noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 1-11 p.m. on Sunday. This service is also available for those attending the Final Four Fan Fest at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
If you get to the Park & Ride early, try to snag one of these free, clear bags that are compliant with the NCAA’s bag policy. Limited supplies will be available.
