A 1965 Olmos Park estate built by San Antonio construction conglomerate H.B. Zachry's long-gone homebuilding unit has hit the market for just shy of $2 million.

The 5,200-square foot residence was originally constructed for a member of the Zachry family, but it got a major makeover in the mid-2000s at the hands of James and Artie Quirk, according to the listing agent. The late James Quirk owned a San Antonio-based insurance company, while his wife Artie had an interior design business.

Artie Quirk's deft hand at design shows in the addition of an entire second floor, which includes three  bedrooms and a full bath. The artistic touches throughout the home also include a beyond-elegant dining room that looks fit for the Palace at Versailles and a wood-paneled library with a dramatic coffered ceiling and plenty of built-in bookcases.
