San Antonio’s Juneteenth Freedom Parade commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States, a nationally recognized holiday celebrated June 19. Saturday’s parade brought out plenty of Alamo City residents eager to honor the sacrifices of their ancestors and celebrate the contributions of Black Americans to the community and the nation.
