After the Spurs’ victory Monday against the Knicks in Madison Square Garden, some New York fans weren’t just sore losers — they became a riotous mob.

A watch party for Knicks fans in Bryant Park devolved into utter bedlam, including “brawls breaking out, people on police cars and officers appearing to use pepper spray to disperse the crowds,” according to New York TV station PIX11.

Following two home losses, the Spurs showed up for Game 3 of the NBA Finals undaunted by rabid New York fans. The Silver and Black walked away victorious with a final score of 115-111, making it a proper series between two elite teams.

But videos circulating online show some Knicks fans processing the loss in less-than-productive ways. Those included following and attacking people in Spurs jerseys, and in some cases, forcing them to remove their fan gear.

“A San Antonio Spurs fan had a scary moment after Game 3 of the NBA Finals game between the San Antonio Spurs & the New York Knicks as he was mobbed and mugged for his San Antonio Spurs jersey,” independent sports reporter Hugo Giovanny said in a caption to his video of the incident. “The New York Knicks fans then set the jersey on fire before police arrived.”

Knicks fans also swarmed and pounded on the side of the Spurs’ team bus as it left the arena, according to video footage obtained from the scene.

Even a bus stop wasn’t safe from the path of the Knicks fans’ destruction.

And when all else failed, the unruly hoops enthusiasts just started attacking each other.

A total of 21 people were arrested and at least two officers were injured in the all-out melee, PIX11 reports.
