Another student dies at at San Antonio area ExcellED Montessori Plus preschool

Authorities have opened an investigation after a 6-year-old student at ExcellED Montessori Plus preschool in Boerne died in a school bathroom during an alleged medical episode, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said Friday.

Staff went to check on the student two to five minutes after she entered the restroom and found her unresponsive, Salazar said. He added that the child did have a history of seizures.

“We understand parents are going to be concerned, especially in light of previous events at this school,” Salazar said.

ExcellED Montessori Plus was the site of a horrific December incident where an unidentified suspect pressed her vehicle’s gas pedal and collided with another car in the school’s parking lot. The collision sent both cars crashing into the school’s playground, killing one teacher and a year-old student.

That incident also remains under investigation, Salazar said.
